Teaching with
technology gives students an opportunity (and an obligation) to do
more writing, and more different types of writing, than most
traditional classes in almost any discipline.
In fact,
Donna
Reiss (among others) has proposed that teaching with
technology should make us discuss the subject more broadly, as
Electronic Communication across the Curriculum
(ECAC).
At BMCC, our
Teaching with Technology program is closely tied to our
Writing across the Curriculum Initiatives. Integrating
technology in the classroom makes integrating writing in the
curriculum more necessary, and more challenging. It can also help in
the process of having your course designated as Writing Intensive
(WI).
